The name is exotic, but the plant is less exotic than it may seem: the ginco, or ginkgo biloba is one of the oldest plants on earth, traces of it have been found in ancient fossils, but despite this the ginkgo is still present in our cities, despite its origins are remote in time and space. The stem is erect, and the bark is gray, very wrinkled and engraved; the young branches are perfectly parallel to the ground, perpendicular to the stem, like those of many conifers; only with the age the branches of the ginkgo biloba tend upwards, therefore the adult trees tend to have an elongated crown, with a candle flame.
