Oxalis ordinary or, as it is popularly called, hare cabbage is an annual low plant (the height is about 15 cm on average), belonging to the oxalis family. The leaf of the plant belongs to long-petiolate and consists of 3 single-type heart-shaped leaves.

The flowering of oxalis can be observed, as a rule, during the late spring or early summer. Hare cabbage flowers are located on long stalks and have a white or pinkish-white hue.

The fruit contains a kind of box in its structure, which bursts during ripening and gives out to the seeds through the cracks formed.

The plant is arranged in such a way that in the evening or in extreme heat, its leaves fold, and in the daytime at normal temperatures they show all their beauty and grace.

Its second name is "hare cabbage", the plant acquired for the sour taste, which it has due to the presence in its structure of substances such as oxalates and oxalic acid.
